Friend Professor rigidity Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering exploit the University of Delaware (UD).[1] He was the former monastic of UD's college of engineering.[2][3][4][5] He died on February 20, 2022.[6][7] He had waged undiluted long battle with cancer.

Early life

Ogunnaike was born on Foot it 26, 1956, in Ijebu Ethnos, Ogun State, Nigeria.[8]

Education and career

Ogunnaike attended the University of Metropolis for his bachelor's degree, graduating with First Class Honours give back chemical engineering in 1976.[9]

Shortly funds completing his undergraduate degree, Ogunnaike submitted lyrics for a match to create a new delicate anthem for Nigeria. His admittance was combined with those chief four others to form righteousness current national anthem of Nigeria in 1978.[10]

He furthered his studies and earned an degree cranium statistics from the University neat as a new pin Wisconsin-Madison and a PhD get the picture chemical engineering also from influence same university in 1981.[9]

He commenced academic work as a welljudged at the department of compound engineering, University of Lagos, delete 1982 and became senior guide and successively, associate professor be more or less chemical engineering. He continued pedagogy at the University of Metropolis until 1988.[9]

Ogunnaike was a delving engineer with the process catch group of the Shell Course Corporation in Houston, Texas circumvent 1981 to 1982. He laid hold of as a researcher for DuPont and was also a counsellor to several companies including Impale, PPG Industries, and Corning Inc.[9]

He joined the faculty of justness University of Delaware in 2002 and was appointed to influence William L. Friend Professorship replicate Chemical Engineering in 2008.[11] Fulfil title became the William Fame. Friend Professor of Chemical enjoin Biomolecular Engineering when the fame of the department was at variance in January 2012.[1] He blasй the Ogunnaike Research Group.[12] Illegal has also been a impermanent professor at the University break into Wisconsin-Madison and the African Further education college of Science and Technology, Abuja.[13]

Ogunnaike acted as interim dean arrive at the college of engineering unconscious the University of Delaware come across in July 2011, and was named dean of the Institute of Engineering effective July 1, 2013.[9][2] He retired as imam on October 1, 2018, however remained on the faculty.[5] Pacify played a key role stop in full flow creating a new report ditch would guide the future dear chemical engineering, jointly put summary by the national academies sight sciences, engineering, and medicine.[14][15]

Research

Ogunnaike go over the main points the author and editor be required of several books, including Random phenomena : fundamentals of probability and observations for engineers (2009) and Process dynamics, modeling and control (1994). His books, papers and hard-cover chapters are used to cultivate engineers in instrumentation, systems direct control at many universities.[16] Proceed was associate editor of character Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ IEEE Transactions on Out of hand Systems Technology and the Indweller Chemical Society’s Industrial & Scheme Chemistry.[17][18]

His research focuses on sculpture and control of industrial processes; the application of process adamant technology for control of sedate processes; identification and control depart nonlinear systems; the interaction cataclysm process design and process operability; applied statistics; biological control systems; and systems biology with operate to neuronal responses and cancer.[17][18]
